OK, seven years is a long time. On the positive side though it shouldn't be too hard to up my rate of posting! Wow, as I'm sitting here in the "Alive" Juice Bar a major blast from the past has just popped on the radio: Walk Like an Egyptian. Makes a seven year old blog post seem not so long ago after all.
So what the heck has happened in all this time? Well I'm not at Cannes anymore. But I've moved from Seattle to LA - which almost feels like a move to Cannes in comparison. Man the weather is nice down there. I say down there because the juice bar I currently sit in is situated in the northern corner of rainy little Seattle - yes I'm visiting my old digs.
When I first flew in from LA - for a writer's conference - it was all bright and shiny. Seattle really gleams in the sun. It stayed that way for what - three days I think. Lovely weather. Spent most of it indoors at various panels - some brilliant some navel-gazingly stultifying. On the whole though I quite enjoyed it. Heck, it's gotten me to write my second post! But among all the flash and substance rests this perennial truth: writers write. Just write something - anything - every day and you'll be practicing. And with practice comes growth. So here I am writing my second post in seven years and growing as I do so.
